This is an important conclusion in our demanding profession, where success is often correlated with income, and there are financial rewards for putting in extra hours. The above study suggests that when it comes to your mental health, you’re probably better off spending those extra hours exercising instead of working late in pursuit of a year-end bonus. The “sweet spot” appears to be 3-5 exercise sessions per week, each lasting 30-60 minutes.
